Revision [draft] · effective [effective date]
Terms and Conditions
Last updated: [effective date]. This is a general summary of the terms that apply when you use the Allied Policy website and services. It is written in plain language and is not legal advice. If you have questions, please contact us at [contact email]. This draft is a starting point that Allied Policy's counsel must review and finalize before it is published.
These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the website, tools, quotes, and related online services (together, the "Site") made available by Allied Policy ("Allied Policy," "we," "us," or "our"). Please read these Terms carefully. They explain what you can expect from the Site and what we expect from you. The Site provides general information to help you learn about and shop for life insurance. It is not the insurance itself, and using the Site does not create an insurance policy or a client relationship on its own.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Site.
We may update these Terms from time to time, as described in the section titled Changes to these Terms. Your continued use of the Site after we post an update means you accept the updated Terms. If you are using the Site on behalf of a business or another person, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms for that party.
2. About Allied Policy
Allied Policy is a licensed, independent insurance agency. We are not an insurance company or insurer. We do not underwrite, issue, guarantee, or fund insurance policies. Insurance coverage is underwritten and issued by the insurance carriers we work with, and each carrier is solely responsible for the policies it issues and the claims under those policies.
We compare options from multiple insurance carriers, but not all carriers or every product available in the market. We work with licensed advisor partners, and some services may be provided through those partners. Allied Policy is compensated through commissions paid by insurance carriers when a policy is placed.
The Site is provided for general information only. It is not insurance, and it is not insurance, legal, tax, or financial advice or a recommendation to buy any particular product from any particular carrier. You should consider your own needs and, where appropriate, speak with a licensed advisor or another qualified professional before making a decision.
- Allied Policy is a licensed insurance agency, not an insurer.
- Policies are underwritten and issued by the insurance carriers.
- The Site is general information, not insurance, legal, or financial advice.
- We compare multiple carriers, but not all carriers or every product.
3. Eligibility
To use the Site, you must be at least 18 years old, be located in the United States, and be able to form a legally binding agreement. The Site is intended for users in the United States, and we do not represent that the Site or the products described on it are appropriate or available in any other location.
Availability of quotes, carriers, products, and licensed advisor services depends on your state and on carrier and regulatory requirements. Allied Policy launches in Illinois, and coverage and services may not be available in every state. We may decline to provide, or may limit, services where we are not licensed or appointed, or where doing so would not comply with applicable law.
4. Informational only, no advice
The content on the Site, including any AI-assisted chat or voice features, is provided to give you general information and to help you gather and compare options. It is not a substitute for advice from a licensed insurance producer and does not constitute a solicitation, recommendation, suitability determination, or offer of any specific policy.
Our online tools and any automated assistant are designed to share general information and to connect you with a licensed advisor when a licensed question comes up. Some chat and voice features may be provided by an automated AI system rather than a live person; we disclose this, and you can ask to reach a human at any time. If you want advice about which product or coverage is right for you, or an explanation of the benefits, terms, or conditions of a specific policy to guide a purchase decision, we will hand you off to a licensed advisor. Any such advice comes only from a licensed human producer, not from the Site or an automated assistant.
5. Quotes are non-binding estimates
Any quote, premium estimate, rate, or illustration shown on the Site is a non-binding estimate for general comparison purposes only. It is not an offer of insurance, a binder, a guarantee of coverage, or a promise of any particular price or approval.
The issuing insurance carrier, and not Allied Policy, determines eligibility, coverage, terms, and final pricing. Actual availability, premiums, and terms depend on the carrier's underwriting, your application and disclosures, and the carrier's issuance of a policy. Estimates may change or may not be available, and nothing on the Site binds any carrier or Allied Policy to issue coverage on any terms.
6. Licensed advisors and third-party partners
Some services described on or offered through the Site are provided by licensed advisor partners or other third parties. When you choose to work with a licensed advisor or another partner, additional terms, disclosures, and privacy practices from that party may apply, and we encourage you to review them.
Allied Policy does not control and is not responsible for the acts, omissions, products, services, or content of insurance carriers or third-party partners. Your relationship with any carrier or partner, including any policy you purchase, is governed by that party's own terms and by the policy documents the carrier issues.
7. Communications and consent
When you use the Site or ask us to contact you, you may provide information and consent that let us communicate with you by phone, text message, email, or AI-assisted voice or chat. The details of what you consent to, how we use and protect your information, how we handle recordings and voice features, and how you can opt out or revoke consent are described in our Privacy Policy. Please review it before providing your information.
We honor opt-out and revocation requests as described in our Privacy Policy. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply to any text messages, and you can reply with the applicable stop keyword or contact us to opt out. Nothing on the Site requires you to consent to marketing communications as a condition of purchasing any product or service.
For full details on consent, communications, recordings, biometric and voice features, data-subject rights, and opt-out, see our Privacy Policy at [Privacy Policy link].
8. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep any account credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
- Do not use the Site in any way that violates applicable law or regulation.
- Do not submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information, or impersonate any person or entity.
- Do not access or attempt to access accounts, data, or systems you are not authorized to use.
- Do not interfere with, disrupt, probe, or attempt to bypass the security of the Site or its infrastructure.
- Do not introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful code, or use bots, scrapers, or automated means to collect data or overload the Site.
- Do not copy, reproduce, resell, or exploit any part of the Site or its content except as expressly permitted.
9. Intellectual property
The Site and its content, including text, graphics, logos, the Allied Policy name and shield mark, design, software, and other materials, are owned by Allied Policy or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property and other laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Site for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, publicly display, create derivative works from, or otherwise use any part of the Site for commercial purposes without our prior written permission. Product names, carrier names, and other marks that appear on the Site and belong to third parties are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification only.
10. Third-party links and services
The Site may contain links to, or integrate with, third-party websites, tools, or services, including insurance carriers, advisor partners, and service providers. We provide these links and integrations for convenience and do not endorse, control, or take responsibility for the content, products, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party site or service.
Your use of any third-party website or service is at your own risk and is governed by that third party's own terms and privacy policy. We encourage you to review those terms before you use a third-party site or service.
11. Disclaimers of warranties
The Site and all content, tools, quotes, and services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Allied Policy disclaims all warranties, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the Site or its servers are free of harmful components. We do not warrant that any quote, estimate, or information on the Site is complete, current, or accurate, or that any carrier will offer, approve, or issue coverage on any terms. Because the issuing carrier determines eligibility, coverage, and pricing, information on the Site is for general comparison only and is not a guarantee of any outcome.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Allied Policy and its affiliates, and their officers, directors, employees, agents, and advisor partners, will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Site or any content, quote, or service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total aggregate liability of Allied Policy for all claims arising out of or relating to the Site and these Terms will not exceed [maximum liability amount, for example one hundred U.S. dollars ($100)]. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. This section does not limit any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Allied Policy and its affiliates, and their officers, directors, employees, agents, and advisor partners, from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any applicable law, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
We reserve the right, at our own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate with our defense of that claim.
14. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Site are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, and by applicable United States federal law.
[Placeholder for counsel: dispute resolution provisions, including any binding arbitration agreement, class-action waiver, informal dispute-resolution or notice requirement, and the exclusive venue and jurisdiction (for example the state and federal courts located in [county], Illinois). Counsel should confirm the enforceability, required disclosures, and formatting of any arbitration and class-action-waiver language before publication.]
15. Changes to these Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will post the updated Terms on the Site and update the "last updated" date shown above. Material changes may be communicated through additional notice where required by law.
Your continued use of the Site after the updated Terms take effect means you accept the changes. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, please stop using the Site.
16. General provisions
[Placeholder for counsel: these Terms are intended to include the standard general provisions below, which counsel should confirm and finalize.]
- Entire agreement: these Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Allied Policy regarding the Site and supersede any prior understandings on that subject.
- Severability: if any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
- No waiver: our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment: you may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale.
- Force majeure: we are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- Electronic communications: you consent to receive communications, agreements, and disclosures from us electronically, and you agree that electronic records and signatures satisfy any requirement that such communications be in writing, to the extent permitted by law.
